Sadie Sink Joins Adam Driver in Marvel's X-Men Reboot; Mister Sinister Unleashed

At the D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event that opened on August 14 in Anaheim, California, Marvel Studios announced the full cast for its upcoming X‑Men reboot, a film that will be integrated into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The reveal took place on Friday, with director Jake Schreier onstage alongside actress Sadie Sink, who is set to play Jean Grey. Together they introduced the rest of the ensemble, including Kit Connor as Cyclops (Scott Summers), Christopher Abbott as Professor Charles Xavier, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, Inde Navarrette as Rogue, and Maya Boyd as Storm.

While the live announcement focused on the heroes, a video call brought Adam Driver into the mix. He confirmed his role as the villainous Nathaniel Milbury, also known as Mister Sinister, adding a darker tone to the new film. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige noted that more casting news would follow as the studio continues to flesh out the project.

In addition to the X‑Men lineup, the event highlighted other MCU titles. Robert Downey Jr. appeared as Doctor Doom in a teaser for “Avengers: Doomsday,” a film directed by Anthony and Joe Russo that brings together heroes from three distinct universes to confront a unique existential threat. Chris Evans and Hayley Atwell also joined Downey onstage to reprise their roles as Steve Rogers and Peggy Carter.

The D23 showcase covered a wide array of franchises beyond the MCU. Updates were shared on the Star Wars series, a new season of “Percy Jackson and the Olympians,” a live‑action adaptation of “Tangled,” a sequel to “Coco,” the “Oswald” series, and “The Bluey Movie.” Fans also received the first look at “Frozen 3,” with Idina Menzel, Kristen Bell, Josh Gad, and Jonathan Groff returning as Elsa, Anna, Olaf, and Kristoff, respectively. The film’s plot will feature Anna and Kristoff’s wedding, a long‑anticipated royal event teased by the studio.

Vibha Maru, an Assistant Editor at Hindustan Times Entertainment based in Delhi, was mentioned as part of the event’s coverage. With a decade of experience covering Bollywood, Hollywood, and web series, Maru is known for her deep passion for cinema and her willingness to sacrifice sleep for binge‑watching.
