Vismaya Mohanlal, the daughter of Malayalam superstar Mohanlal and Suchitra Mohanlal, is enjoying a warm welcome for her first acting role in Jude Anthany Joseph’s film Thudakkam. The young actress, who portrays the physically strong character Meenu, has expressed delight at the audience’s positive response, noting that she never expected such enthusiasm when she first stepped into the project.
Vismaya said that the experience of being part of a film she truly enjoys has made the beginning of her career feel special and beyond what she imagined. She credited director Jude Anthany Joseph with giving her the chance to start her journey in cinema, and she thanked him for allowing her to play a role that showcases action and empowerment.
While describing her appearance on set—dressed in a black blouse and stylish pants—she admitted that fear and self-doubt had kept her from entering the film industry earlier. “I’m grateful to Jude chetta for this,” she told reporters, referring to the director’s guidance and support.
One of the most exciting aspects of Thudakkam for Vismaya was the action sequences. She enjoyed bringing Meenu’s fighting skills to life and said that the character’s physical strength could inspire young girls. She recalled a child who approached her and said, “Look, I can fight like Meenu,” which reinforced the larger meaning she sees in the film’s action.
Vismaya also spoke about her martial arts training, explaining that while it boosts confidence, it does not guarantee the ability to beat anyone. She emphasized that the film is not only about Meenu’s strength but also about resilience—taking agency over one’s life after feeling defeated and learning to move forward.
When asked about her father, Vismaya expressed deep admiration. “I’m proud of Acha. He is an artist in every way. Even in life, I feel he is an artist,” she said, highlighting his presence, focus, and artistic approach to both acting and life.
