Rivals Clash in Bigg Boss Malayalam 8 Agnipareeksha; 30 Contestants Face First Major Task

Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 8’s pre‑show, titled Agnipareeksha, opened its doors on August 15 with a launch episode that streamed from midnight on JioHotstar and will later air at 9 p.m. on Asianet. The episode unveiled a roster of 30 commoners who have been selected to battle it out for a spot in the main house.

In addition to those 30, the show introduced ten more contestants through fast‑track entry categories: five via the My G Future Fast‑Track and five through the White Gold Fast‑Track, bringing the total to 40 aspirants. The first major challenge, named Manichithrathazhu, was designed to whittle the field in half. Twenty housemates successfully completed the task and advanced, while the other twenty were eliminated from the initial round but may still have a chance to re‑enter in future episodes.

Those who cleared the task were split into three teams led by former Bigg Boss Malayalam contestants: Riyaz Salim’s Game Changer, Ranjini Haridas’ Fearless, and Akhil Marar’s Ruff n Tuff. In Game Changer, Abhiram, Anagha Chandran and Pranav S emerged victorious, earning the Infinity Pendant and securing a safe spot. The remaining members of that team were sent to the outhouse, marked by red bands. Ranjini Haridas’ Fearless team saw Parvathy Narayan win the Infinity Pendant, while Shijin S claimed it for Akhil Marar’s Ruff n Tuff.

Following the tasks, eight contestants were placed in the outhouse danger zone: Pooja Sarath, Shibina, Rasha Palathinkal, Aziya Nowrin, Aparna Suresh, Nayana Balakrishnan, Aradhya Tiya Antony and Shano Thomas. These housemates now face the threat of eviction as the show continues to filter the field for the main season.

While the 20 who failed the Manichithrathazhu task are out of the immediate competition, the format allows for a potential second chance in upcoming episodes, keeping their Agnipareeksha journey alive.
