Vishal's Magudam Falters on Weekend; Opening Day Net Tumbles 17.6%

Vishal's directorial debut, Magudam, has shown a decline in its box office performance over the weekend, with a significant drop in its Sunday collection compared to the previous day.

According to box office tracking site Sacnilk, the Tamil action film collected an estimated ₹0.56 crore in India on Sunday, marking a 17.6% decline from its Saturday collection of ₹0.68 crore.

This development brings the film's total India net collection to ₹1.84 crore, comprising ₹0.60 crore on Friday, ₹0.68 crore on Saturday, and ₹0.56 crore on Sunday.

The India gross collection has reached ₹2.10 crore after three days, based on the tracking figures provided by Sacnilk.

The Sunday collection was lower than Saturday's, indicating a slowdown in the film's momentum over the weekend.

The Tamil version of the film collected an estimated ₹0.39 crore net in India on Day 3, while the Telugu version earned ₹0.17 crore, bringing the total to ₹0.56 crore net collection on Sunday.

With Monday, August 17, marking the start of the film's fourth day of theatrical run, the next set of box office figures will provide an indication of the film's performance during the weekdays.

Magudam, an action drama centered on a man who is drawn back into a violent part of his past while attempting to protect his son from dangerous criminals, has been written and directed by Vishal, making it his first feature as a director.

The cast includes Vishal, Anjali, and Dushara Vijayan in the lead roles, with John Vijay, Jeyaprakash, Ajay, Vamsi Krishna, Abu Salim, Arjai, and other actors appearing in supporting roles.

The film has been produced by Super Good Films, with Vishal Film Factory also involved in its production, marking Super Good Films' 99th production venture.

With the film's performance over the weekend indicating a decline, it remains to be seen how it will fare during the weekdays and whether it can regain momentum to achieve commercial success.
