Television actress Niti Taylor has spoken publicly about a harrowing incident that occurred early in her acting career. According to a recent interview with Hauterfly, the actress was approached by the director of her debut Telugu film for a second project, only to be met with an explicit and unwanted proposition. Taylor recounted that the filmmaker told her, “But you will have to sleep with me for it this time,” a demand she found deeply uncomfortable and unacceptable. She said she immediately ended the call, blocked the director’s number, and called her mother for support, describing the experience as shocking enough to change her career trajectory.
The incident came after Taylor had already noticed the director’s questionable behavior toward other women on set. She explained that seeing him with other actresses made her feel vulnerable, and when he made the same demand of her, she decided she would never work in films again. “I never knew when he would try this with me,” she said. “That’s when I decided I would never do any movies ever again.” Taylor has chosen not to disclose the matter to many people, feeling “zapped” by the experience.
Taylor’s film debut was in 2012 with the romantic drama Mem Vayasuku Vacham, directed by Trinadha Rao Nakkina and produced by Bekkam Venugopal. After the incident, she shifted her focus to television, where she quickly became a familiar face on Indian screens. She gained widespread popularity playing Nandini Murthy in the youth‑oriented series Kaisi Yeh Yaariaan, opposite Parth Samthaan, and the show’s success led to multiple subsequent seasons.
Beyond Kaisi Yeh Yaariaan, Taylor has appeared in several other TV shows, including Ghulaam, Ishqbaaaz, and Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2. She also featured in the Amazon Prime Video reality series Alliance. Her decision to concentrate on television rather than pursue further film projects was directly influenced by the unsettling experience with the director, according to her latest account.
