Milap Zaveri Confirms Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat 2; Fans’ Demand Drives Plans

On October 21, writer‑director Milap Zaveri marked the first anniversary of his sleeper hit Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat. In a sit‑down with Bollywood Hungama he revealed that a sequel is already in the works, citing the film’s enduring popularity on social media as a key factor. “The film is still viral. Thousands of Reels are made on it even today,” Zaveri said. “When I post anything, I instantly get comments asking for Deewaniyat 2.” He added that he, along with producer Anshul Garg, director Harshvardhan Rane, actress Sonam Bajwa, and actor Raghav Sharma, have discussed the idea, and that the project will move forward when the timing is right.

In a further glimpse into the production timeline, Zaveri recounted that on April 4, 2025 he met with Anshul, and just 13 days later the film began shooting. He described the rapid turnaround as “nothing short of magic” and praised the producer’s drive to make it happen. Despite the success of Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat, the director’s next two releases, Mastiii 4 (2025) and Tera Yaar Hoon Main (2026), failed to make a mark at the box office. Zaveri said the love for the original film has shielded him from those setbacks, keeping audiences and industry insiders confident in his romantic‑drama instincts.

Speaking about future projects, Zaveri highlighted his upcoming untitled film with Aditya Roy Kapur. He confirmed that shooting will begin this year, with Kapur already locked in and a lead actress yet to be announced. He hinted that the announcement could come before his birthday on November 14. “I am pretty sure it’ll happen before that!” he laughed.

Throughout the interview, Zaveri praised the support of Bhushan Kumar and Adi, noting that their confidence and encouragement have been instrumental in his career. He recalled Kumar’s push for an intense love story and the consistent backing he received from the start of his career with Satyameva Jayate (2018) to his recent works. The director also mentioned a strong supporting cast for the new film, including Shaad Randhawa, whom he calls a lucky charm.

With the buzz around a second Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat already building, fans can expect more details from Zaveri soon. The director’s enthusiasm, coupled with the film’s viral status, suggests that the sequel could soon join the ranks of his successful romantic dramas.
