Vijay’s political action drama Jana Nayagan has slipped into its lowest single‑day earnings on Day 13, pulling in just ₹2.10 crore net in India on Tuesday, August 4. The film, which opened worldwide on July 23, has now crossed the ₹300‑crore threshold in global gross, according to Sacnilk box‑office tracking. The drop of 45.5 % from the ₹3.85 crore net collected on Monday reflects a steady decline as the film moves into its second week.
Across 3,967 domestic shows, the Tamil version dominated with a net of ₹1.80 crore, while the Hindi and Telugu releases added ₹28 lakh and ₹2 lakh respectively. Occupancy fell to 21 % in Tamil theatres, 11 % in Hindi, and 13 % in Telugu, bringing overall domestic occupancy to 17 %. Overseas earnings on Day 13 were modest, with an estimated ₹0.75 crore bringing the worldwide total to roughly ₹303.74 crore after 13 days.
Since its first Thursday release, Jana Nayagan has accumulated ₹42.70 crore net in India, followed by ₹21.15 crore on Friday, ₹28.90 crore on Saturday, and ₹32 crore on the opening Sunday. The opening week closed at ₹153.55 crore net, after which the film entered its second week with a Day 9 haul of ₹3.55 crore. The second weekend saw a rebound, with ₹7.80 crore on Saturday and ₹10.70 crore on Sunday, before falling to ₹3.85 crore on Monday and the current ₹2.10 crore on Tuesday.
The film, directed by H. Vinoth and produced by Venkat K. Narayana under the KVN Productions banner, stars Vijay alongside Bobby Deol, Pooja Hegde, and Mamitha Baiju, with supporting roles by Nassar, Prakash Raj, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Narain, and Priyamani. Initially slated for a January 9, 2026 release, the movie was delayed due to CBFC clearance issues and finally premiered worldwide on July 23. Music is by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography by Sathyan Sooryan, and editing by Pradeep E. Ragav, with co‑producers Jagadish Palanisamy and Lohith N.K. present on the set.
