Ranveer's Don 3 Drama Escalates; Father Steps In to Meet Producers

A brewing drama surrounding Ranveer Singh's exit from the highly-anticipated film Don 3 appears to be nearing a resolution, thanks in part to the intervention of the actor's father. The controversy, which has been simmering for months, has seen the film's producers, Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, approach the Indian Motion Picture Producers Association (IMPPA) in a bid to resolve the issue.

According to sources, Farhan and Ritesh had filed a formal complaint with IMPPA, presenting documentary evidence related to the film, including a signed contract and a promotional video that had already been shot. The producers had also informed the association about a message from Ranveer, in which he expressed his excitement about being part of the project.

IMPPA's president, Abhay Sinha, confirmed that the filmmakers had approached the association with a complaint against Ranveer, seeking their intervention in the matter. 'Farhan and Ritesh approached us with a complaint against Ranveer and sought our intervention in the matter last month,' Sinha said. 'We subsequently wrote to Ranveer asking him to respond.'

Ranveer's team had initially questioned IMPPA's jurisdiction in the matter, with his lawyer maintaining that the dispute was outside the association's purview. However, it appears that the actor's father has now stepped in, expressing a willingness to meet with the producers' body. 'However, three days ago, Ranveer's father approached us and expressed their willingness to meet,' Sinha revealed.

IMPPA has welcomed the development, stating that they will now hear from both sides before determining the next course of action. 'We have received communication from a lawyer confirming that Ranveer's side is ready to attend the meeting once a date is fixed,' Sinha added.

The dispute between Ranveer's camp and the film's producers began in April, when Farhan and Ritesh approached the Indian Film and Television Directors' Association (IFTDA) in connection with the actor's exit from the project. The situation escalated in May, when the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) became involved in the matter.

With Ranveer's father now willing to engage with the producers, it remains to be seen whether the issue can be resolved amicably. The film's producers have previously expressed their disappointment at Ranveer's last-minute withdrawal from the project, citing the complications it had caused. The regulatory body will now wait to hear from Ranveer's father or representative before determining what, if any, further actions are necessary.

It's a complex situation, but it appears that both parties are now willing to engage in dialogue. The outcome of these talks will be closely watched by fans of the film and the wider film industry, who are eager to see Don 3 come to fruition.

The fate of Don 3 remains uncertain, but with Ranveer's father now willing to meet with the producers, there is hope that the issue can be resolved and the film can move forward. The IMPPA will continue to play a key role in mediating the dispute, and their efforts will be closely monitored as the situation unfolds.

As the parties involved engage in talks, fans of Ranveer Singh and the film Don 3 can only hope that the issue is resolved amicably and that the film is able to move forward without further delays.
