On July 23, Thalapathy Vijay’s final outing as a leading actor, Jana Nayagan, opened to a thunderous reception across Tamil Nadu, quickly becoming the state’s top‑grossing film of the week. Directed by H. Vinoth, the political action drama features a star‑packed cast that includes Mamitha Baiju, Bobby Deol, Pooja Hegde and Prakash Raj, and is produced by KVN Productions.

By the end of its third day, the film had amassed a staggering ₹92.35 crore in net earnings and ₹108.34 crore in gross revenue in India alone. Overseas collections added another ₹20 crore on Saturday, bringing the worldwide total to ₹171.84 crore after just 72 hours.

In Tamil Nadu, the numbers were even more impressive. The film saw a 36.1% jump on Saturday, netting ₹24.40 crore from the state and pushing the three‑day total to an estimated ₹80.55 crore. Occupancy rates climbed steadily throughout the day, with morning shows at 42.92%, afternoon at 59.31%, evening at 67.00% and night at 74.92%.

These figures underline Vijay’s enduring box‑office appeal and mark the end of an era for the actor, who has been a dominant force in Tamil cinema for more than a decade. As the film continues to perform, it is poised to set new records and cement Vijay’s legacy as a cinematic icon.
