Karan Johar has once again taken the helm of the Indian adaptation of the hit reality series The Traitors, with Season 2 set to debut on Prime Video on August 13. The production team has released the full roster of twenty contestants, who will engage in a high‑stakes game of deception, betrayal and strategy, all vying for a grand prize.
The first group of players announced includes Abhishek Malhan, Shalini Passi, Kullu, Shweta Tiwari, Rida Tharana, Ansh Chopra, Ikka, Prish, Soundous Moukafir, Karan Singh Magic, and Saahil Salathia. The remaining participants are Mallika Sherawat, Munawar Faruqui, Rhea Chakraborty, Krystle D’Souza, Parul Gulati, Ranveer Brar, Shahneel Ghill, Dalip Tahil, Harman Singha, and Tanya Puri.
Produced in partnership with All3Media International and BBC Studios India, the show follows the original format in which twenty players are divided into innocents and hidden traitors. Each night, the traitors secretly eliminate a contestant, while the innocents convene at a roundtable to discuss and vote out suspected traitors. The series has been praised for its tense psychological gameplay, shocking twists and the constant tension that keeps viewers guessing.
Last season’s winners were Uorfi Javed and Rida Tharana, who claimed the title as innocents. In a recent Instagram promo, Johar teased the return of the drama with the line, “Ek saal beet gaya, par kuch dhokhe abhi bhi utne hi taaze hain,” translating to “One year has passed, but some betrayals are still as fresh.” He also poked fun at Ashish Vidyarthi’s frequent sleeping on set and highlighted clips of Uorfi Javed and Apoorva Mukhija, remarking that “friendship was temporary, but kalesh was permanent.”
Rumours suggest that Johar may be joined by a mysterious new co‑host or a special role within the palace, a development that could add another layer of intrigue to the already complex game. The production team has kept details under wraps, leaving fans to speculate about the nature of this new element.
