Tom Holland has confirmed that Marvel has already mapped out a long‑term plan for his eventual exit from the Spider‑Man franchise. Speaking on the Happy Sad Confused podcast during the promotion of Spider‑Man: Brand New Day, the 30‑year‑old actor said that discussions about his departure began soon after the release of No Way Home in 2021. “There’s a whole plan that we have been working on for, I would say, since we finished Spider‑Man: No Way Home,” Holland told the show. “It’s laid out. It’s gonna change for sure, but I have a really clear vision to the passing on of the baton, and I think it’s really exciting.”
Holland added that he enjoys the conversations about the future of the character and sees them as a highlight of his time in the role. “I know I get really excited when we have these meetings and chat about it. But that is the thing I want to do most in this character, for sure,” he said. He also expressed a desire to mentor the next actor to take up the Spider‑Man mantle, echoing how Robert Downey Jr. guided him in the first three films of the MCU. “In the way that Robert Downey was such a mentor for me in my first three movies, I would love to be that person for whoever is next,” Holland told Esquire earlier this year.
When asked who he would like to see don the suit after him, Holland nominated Owen Cooper, the teenage star who earned praise for his performance in the Netflix series Adolescence. The actor’s first appearance as Spider‑Man was in Captain America: Civil War (2016), and he has since starred in several MCU Spider‑Man films, making him the third actor to portray Peter Parker after Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield.
In India, Spider‑Man: Brand New Day opened on July 30, 2026, a day before its worldwide premiere on July 31. The film is being screened in multiple languages—English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada—and is available in a range of premium formats, including 2D, 3D, 4DX 3D, SCREEN X, Dolby Cinema 3D, ICE 3D, MX4D 3D, and P[XL].
