Director Sajid Ali has officially denied rumours that actor Rohit Saraf has been signed for the lead role in his upcoming film Heer Ranjha. In a recent statement, Ali clarified that no casting decisions have been finalised, calling the reports “old news” that have resurfaced without any basis.
Ali added that the female lead, who is expected to be a newcomer, has also not yet been locked in. He stressed that the project remains in the planning stages, with no definitive cast announced to date.
The film, which is slated to begin production in mid‑October, will be shot in Dehradun. Ali mentioned that the crew will start “floors” in October, but there is “nothing much to talk about yet” until the schedule is confirmed.
