Tom Holland's Spider-Man Tops ₹175 Cr in 3 Days; Beats Bollywood Records

Tom Holland’s fourth solo outing as Spider‑Man, "Brand New Day," has shattered expectations in India, raking in ₹175 crore net in its first three days of release. The Sony‑Marvel collaboration opened in India on July 30, a day before its U.S. debut, and has already eclipsed the opening totals of some of Bollywood’s biggest stars. By Friday, the film had added ₹49 crore net, bringing its domestic total to ₹109 crore. Saturday saw a 35% surge, with ticket sales climbing to ₹66.75 crore, pushing the cumulative earnings to ₹176 crore after three days.

These figures place "Brand New Day" as the highest‑grossing Hollywood film in India to date, surpassing the record held by "Avengers: Endgame," which collected $61 million (≈₹470 crore) in the country. In comparison, Shah Rukh Khan’s "Pathaan" earned ₹161 crore net over the same period, while Salman Khan’s "Tiger 3" reached ₹144 crore, and Aamir Khan’s "Dhurandhar" lagged at ₹102 crore. The Indian box‑office haul of roughly $23 million (≈₹175 crore) also contributes a significant chunk to the film’s global earnings.

In the United States, "Brand New Day" has set a new benchmark from the outset. The film collected $72 million from paid previews, breaking the record previously held by "Avengers: Endgame." On its opening day, it added an additional $95 million, taking the day‑one total to a staggering $167 million – the highest opening for any Hollywood film in North America. The movie continues to outpace "Avengers: Endgame," which opened to $161 million.

The story follows Peter Parker, played by Holland, as he navigates a world that no longer remembers him while dealing with new threats. Zendaya returns as MJ, and Jacob Batalon reprises his role as Ned. The film also features Sadie Sink, Mark Ruffalo, and Jon Bernthal in key roles. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, "Brand New Day" combines familiar MCU elements with fresh narrative twists, resonating strongly with audiences worldwide.
