Cinema VinesMalayalam filmmaker Kunchacko Boban has returned to the big screen with his latest venture, Unmadham, which opened in theatres on 31 July 2026. The psychological mystery thriller follows a police constable who is drawn back into an unresolved case from his past, forcing him to confront buried truths and question the people around him. The film also stars Lijomol Jose and Sudheesh in pivotal roles.
Behind the camera, debut feature director Kiran Das takes the helm, having written the script with Shahi Kabir. Cinematography is handled by Arjun Sethu, while Mujeeb Majeed provides the musical score. Editing duties are shared by Das and Jithin John, and the film’s creative production is overseen by Abhinav Mehrotra. The project is presented by Gulshan Kumar, Bhushan Kumar, T-Series Films and Panorama Studios, with producers Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak, Ram Mirchandani and Rajesh Menon.
Panorama Studios is responsible for worldwide distribution, and the film remains in the early stages of its theatrical run. While audiences can still catch the movie in cinemas, the makers have hinted that the film will eventually land on an OTT platform.
Official promotional material already features the Sony LIV logo, suggesting that the streaming service will host Unmadham once the theatrical window closes. However, no concrete release date or digital premiere announcement has been issued yet, leaving fans to wait for confirmation.
