Roshan Mathew's Uyir to Stream on JioHotstar; Available in Multiple Languages

After a six‑week run in theatres, the Malayalam crime drama Uyir, starring Roshan Mathew as SI Ajeeb, is set to hit the digital platform JioHotstar on Tuesday, August 4, 2026. The film, directed by M. Padmakumar and produced by Santhosh Thrivikraman under the Wow Cinemas banner, will be available in its original Malayalam version as well as in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi, allowing a wider audience to experience the story online.

"Uyir" follows the investigation of a decomposed body found in a well near the Kerala‑Karnataka border. SI Ajeeb, a probationary police officer, is drawn into a complex case that tests his investigative skills and his own psychological resilience. With limited evidence and scant official support, he teams up with ASI Joy, played by Baiju Santhosh, to uncover the truth behind the victim’s death. The narrative, inspired by true events, portrays how the case becomes a pivotal chapter in Ajeeb’s life.

The ensemble cast includes Athulya Chandra as Shehna, Shruthy Menon as Shobha, Vineeth Thattil David as Sub Inspector Nandakumar, and Santhosh Thrivikraman as CI Shivakumar. Supporting roles are filled by Saiyami Kher, Vinod Sagar, Shaju Sreedhar, Srikant Murali and Divya M. Nair. The story is credited to Anshad S, with Nikhil K. Menon and Shaji Marad handling the screenplay and dialogues. Cinematography was done by Ajay David Kachappilly, editing by Ranjan Abraham, and music composed by Manikandan Ayyappa. Century Films distributed the film in theatres.

With its theatrical release on June 26, 2026, “Uyir” had a brief but impactful presence on the big screen. Now, over five weeks later, viewers who missed the cinema experience can stream the film on JioHotstar. The platform’s multilingual availability ensures that audiences across India can enjoy the crime thriller in their preferred language.
