Suriya and Radhika Sarathkumar reunite in Vishwanath & Sons; share close bond

In a recent promotional event in Coimbatore, veteran Tamil actor Suriya announced that he and his long‑time friend Radhika Sarathkumar will once again share the screen in Venky Atluri’s upcoming film Vishwanath & Sons. The pair, who have worked together in several films over the past two decades, are set to reunite after a long hiatus, bringing their well‑known chemistry back to audiences.

During the event, Suriya recounted a touching anecdote that highlighted the depth of his bond with Radhika. Years ago, when his brother Karthi was preparing to pursue higher education in the United States, the family faced financial constraints that threatened to derail the visa process. Radhika, who was then employed by Suriya’s father Sivakumar, stepped in and provided the necessary funds, asking that the money be kept in the family account until Karthi’s admission was confirmed. Suriya praised her generosity, noting that she had also acted in several of his films without accepting payment.

Although Radhika was not present at the Coimbatore event, Suriya made sure to honor her contributions. He reflected on their shared history, mentioning their earlier collaborations in Sandhippoma (1998), Uyirile Kalanthathu (2000), and Singam 3 (2017). He also noted that Karthi had worked with her in Saguni (2012). The actor emphasized that their friendship has endured over the years, both professionally and personally.

Vishwanath & Sons is directed by Venky Atluri and will be released in both Tamil and Telugu. The film follows Sanjay Vishwanath, portrayed by Suriya, a seasoned pistol shooter in his forties who seeks to reclaim his footing in life. Mamitha Baiju co‑stars as Maddy, a young woman who falls for him despite their age difference. The supporting cast includes Radhika Sarathkumar, Raveena Tandon, Nasser, Sudha, Raghu Babu, Sunil Reddy, Bhavani Sri, Viva Harsha, Kaali Venkat, George Maryan, Hyper Aadhi, Srija Ravi, Sarvadaman Banerjee, Mathew Varghese, Kalyani Natarajan, Karate Karthik, and Master Charvik.

GV Prakash is credited with the film’s music, and the release date is set for August 14. Suriya, fresh off the success of Karuppu, and Mamitha, who last appeared in Jana Nayagan, are both eager to bring their characters to life. The film’s production is backed by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya under Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas.
