With the release of the period drama Batwara 1947 just a week away, the film’s promotion has already become a talking point. After debuting its trailer in Mumbai, the team embarked on a roadshow that took them to Jaipur, where they screened the film at the iconic Raj Mandir cinema hall, and later to Patna, generating a flood of images and videos that have been widely shared across social media.
On August 4, the cast and crew—including Sunny Deol, Preity Zinta and director Rajkumar Santoshi—gathered in Mumbai for a media interaction before heading to Ahmedabad. That same weekend, Bollywood Hungama reported that the film’s team would surprise audiences with a television appearance, a move that could boost the movie’s visibility just before its theatrical launch.
According to insider chatter, Sunny Deol, the film’s lead actor, and producer Aamir Khan are slated to join Amitabh Bachchan for the grand premiere of Season 18 of the popular game show Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC). The new season is set to premiere on Monday, August 10, and the presence of the two Bollywood heavyweights is expected to give the show a high‑profile kick‑off while simultaneously providing a promotional boost for Batwara 1947.
An industry source noted, “Aamir Khan has largely stayed away from the promotions of Batwara 1947, letting Sunny Deol and others take centre stage. But it seems Aamir saved his appearance for the best. Seeing him and Sunny together with Amitabh Bachchan will be a win‑win for both the film and the TV show. Batwara 1947 will get a promotional boost, while the appearance of the two stars will ensure the new season of KBC begins with a bang.”
In addition to the upcoming TV debut, a screening of the film’s final cut took place on August 4. The event, which followed several earlier test screenings, allowed the cast and crew to view the completed version. A photo released by Bollywood Hungama shows Aamir Khan and director Rajkumar Santoshi posing with producers Tutu Sharma and writer‑director Rumy Jafry after watching the film.
