Cinema VinesDirector Jude Anthany Joseph was handed a luxurious Swiss timepiece by actress Suchitra Mohanlal after a screening of his upcoming film “Thudakkam.” The gesture, captured on Instagram, saw Jude posing with Suchitra and her daughter Vismaya, who makes her acting debut in the film, alongside a photo of himself wearing the new watch.
In a heartfelt caption, Jude reflected on his close relationship with the mother‑daughter duo, writing, “To the world, they may be mother and daughter. But to me, they will always be my elder sister and my little sister.” He added that the watch is a gift from “Suchi Chechi” and a memory he will cherish forever, thanking her for her love and encouragement.
The timepiece comes from Baume & Mercier, a Swiss luxury watchmaker whose models range from ₹1 lakh to ₹4 lakh. Jude’s post highlighted the significance of the present, noting that it was a special moment for him after the screening.
“Thudakkam” marks Vismaya Mohanlal’s first acting role and is slated for release in theatres on August 7. The film also features Mohanlal in a cameo. The project has deep personal ties for the Mohanlal family; after Vismaya expressed interest in acting, Suchitra approached Jude with the idea, leading to the film’s development and its status as one of the most anticipated Malayalam releases of the Onam season.
