Netflix’s reality drama Lock Upp and Prime Video’s Alliance wrapped up their seasons on consecutive days, with Shreya Kalra and Mini Mathur crowned winners. A surprise twist emerged when the two shows crossed paths, a move attributed to actor Kushal Tandon. Tandon, who had a brief romance with co‑star Shivangi Joshi, leveraged the crossover to demand a hefty fee from producer Ekta Kapoor.
Tandon posted a clip on his Instagram Stories showing Shreya Kalra and Shivangi Joshi discussing him on Lock Upp. In the caption he wrote, “@ektarkapoor ma’am sending you crossover billing amount with GST,” and later added, “One million dollars easy.” Kapoor responded by reposting the clip and jokingly asking him to “dm me d amt.” The video revealed Shreya interrupting a conversation about Shivangi’s past relationships, while Shivangi tried to deflect the question about Tandon.
During an episode of Lock Upp 2, Shreya claimed that Tandon had flirted with her via direct messages, an allegation she denied, citing her own chat logs. In a subsequent Alliance episode, Kashish Kapoor confronted Tandon about the same issue. Tandon explained that Shreya had initially messaged him, insisting he had never DM’d her, and that their interaction had been limited to a promo shoot for the show Barsaatein – Mausam Pyar Ka, where he alleged she was promised a larger role that never materialised.
Beyond the drama, Tandon’s claim that he earned a one‑million‑dollar fee for his “indirect contribution” to Kapoor’s show has not been verified by any official source. The actor’s public exchange, however, has sparked debate over the financial dynamics of reality‑TV crossovers and the influence of personal relationships on production decisions.
