Cinema VinesSanjay Leela Bhansali is on track to finish shooting his latest romantic epic, Love and War, by the end of August. While Vicky Kaushal has already wrapped his portions, the film’s lead actors Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt are slated to continue filming for an additional twenty days throughout the month.
In a move that has fans buzzing, Bhansali is set to unveil the character posters for Kapoor, Bhatt and Kaushal on August 15, coinciding with India’s Independence Day. The announcement will precede the movie’s theatrical release, scheduled for the Republic Day weekend of 2027.
According to a source speaking to Bollywood Hungama, Bhansali may also drop an immersive announcement video—a motion poster featuring grand visuals of the film—though the details remain uncertain. The character posters are confirmed, but the format of the video release has yet to be clarified.
Directed by Bhansali, Love and War is slated for a January 22, 2027 release and carries a production budget of ₹300 crore, excluding print and publicity costs. This makes it the most expensive film in Bhansali’s career to date.
