Idhayam Murali Now Streaming On OTT; Available On Netflix

After a limited theatrical run that began on 10 July 2026, the Tamil coming‑of‑age romance Idhayam Murali has officially entered the digital arena, premiering on Netflix on 7 August. The film, now available in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada, offers a fresh viewing option for fans who missed its cinema debut.

Directed, co‑written and produced by first‑time filmmaker Aakash Baskaran under the Dawn Pictures banner, the story follows Idhaya—a man on his way to a wedding in India—who opens up about his past to a stranger aboard a flight. As he reflects on his childhood in the late 1990s, school and college days, and the relationships that shaped him, the narrative unfolds in a series of memories that illuminate the choices and missed opportunities that have defined his life. Close friends Dravid and Prabhu accompany him through the emotional journey, underscoring the film’s focus on friendship and personal growth.

The cast is anchored by Atharvaa in the lead role, with Preity Mukhundhan, Kayadu Lohar, Malavika Mohanan, Natty Subramaniam, Ramki, Thaman S, Rakshan, Dravid Selvam, Sudhakar, Niharika NM and Angeline supporting the story. Notably, music composer Thaman S returns to acting after a 22‑year hiatus, and veteran actor Fahadh Faasil makes an extended cameo appearance. The film’s dialogues were crafted by Ramanagirivasan, with additional contributions from Baskaran and Selvam, while lyrics were penned by Vivek. Choreography was handled by Anusha Viswanathan.

Behind the scenes, cinematography was executed by Manoj Paramahamsa and CH Sai, with editing by Pradeep E. Ragav. Production design was overseen by M.R. Karthik Rajkumar, costume design by Pallavi Singh and Meenakshi N, and visual effects supervised by Praveen D. Sound design was managed by Suen G and Alagiakoothan, with post‑production supervision by Guna. The soundtrack, released under the Think Music label, complements the film’s emotional tone.

With its Netflix launch, Idhayam Murali is now accessible to a broader audience, allowing viewers across India and beyond to experience the film’s heartfelt exploration of love, memory and self‑discovery from the comfort of their homes.
