Anil Kapoor Hosts Logic-Based Game Show India Ke Top 1%; ₹1 Crore Prize

Actor Anil Kapoor is gearing up for a television comeback, this time as the host of a fresh game‑show concept that deviates from the conventional quiz format. The new show, titled India Ke Top 1%, is the Indian adaptation of the internationally acclaimed format The 1% Club. It is set to premiere on 5th September and will bring a logic‑based challenge to viewers across the country.

Unlike typical quiz shows that rely on general knowledge or current affairs, India Ke Top 1% focuses on logic, observation, pattern recognition and common sense. The premise is to test contestants’ thinking skills rather than their memory of facts. The show will begin with 100 participants answering a series of questions that gradually increase in difficulty, starting with challenges that 90% of people can solve and culminating in a question that only 1% of the population is expected to answer correctly. Each question is pre‑tested through nationwide surveys to ensure its difficulty level.

Kapoor, who last hosted a reality show on Bigg Boss OTT 3 in 2024, expressed enthusiasm about the new venture. He said, “I’m thrilled to announce that India Ke Top 1% premieres on 5th September. Witnessing the grand launch of the show in such a spectacular setting made this announcement even more special.” He added, “It will surprise you and keep you on your toes because it’s not about how much you know; it’s about how you think.” The actor highlighted the interactive nature of the programme, noting that every question can be answered in real time, allowing families to play along from home.

The format is designed to be inclusive, giving a fourteen‑year‑old the same chance to reach the final question as a forty‑year‑old. Viewers are encouraged to register if they believe they can join India’s top 1% of thinkers. The ultimate prize for the winner is a cash reward of ₹1 crore.

First launched in the UK in 2022, The 1% Club quickly became one of the fastest‑growing game‑show formats worldwide, now adapted in 15 countries including the United States. India Ke Top 1% aims to bring that same excitement and intellectual challenge to Indian audiences, promising a fresh take on competitive television.
