Directed and written by Manoj Tapadia, the film premiered in theatres on June 12, earning positive reviews but falling short of commercial success, with a domestic net collection of ₹7.04 crore and a worldwide total of ₹8.32 crore.
Tapadia, who co‑produced the film with PEN Studios, Manikarnika Films, and Paramhans Creations in partnership with Eunoia Films LLP and Floating Rocks Entertainment Pvt Ltd, explains that the narrative aims to spotlight the bravery of nurses, ward boys, cleaners, and security staff at Cama and Albless Hospital during the night of the attacks. While the nation remembers the valor of security forces, Tapadia insists the hospital staff’s courage was equally extraordinary, as they continued to care for patients amid chaos and danger.
Ranaut, who stars alongside Girija Oak and Smita Tambe, said in a statement that the film was “incredibly important” for her to bring these unsung stories to the screen. She added that the timing of the release—just before India’s Independence Day—enhances the film’s message about the nation’s spirit, which she believes is defined not only by frontline defenders but also by ordinary citizens who rise to extraordinary challenges.
After its theatrical run, Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata will be available for streaming on Zee5 starting August 15. The platform released a new trailer on Friday, describing the film as “an untold story of ordinary nurses who stood with extraordinary courage on the darkest night of 26/11.” The trailer’s caption read, “Some heroes were never seen. Their stories were never told. Until now.” The film is set to premiere on Zee5 on August 14, with the Hindi version available on the same day.
