Jailer 2 nears ₹60 crore Kerala milestone; poised to eclipse Leo

Rajini’s latest outing, Jailer 2, is on track to become the highest‑grossing Tamil film ever in Kerala, with the seventh‑day tally expected to push the total past the ₹60 crore mark. According to box‑office tracker Jerin Georgekutty, the film had already raked in ₹55.76 crore in the state by the end of its sixth day, and the current trend suggests it will cross ₹60 crore before the close of Wednesday, October 21.

Georgekutty shared the latest figures in an X post at 2:11 PM Wednesday, noting that Jailer 2 is on course to overtake Leo, the previous record holder, and claim the top spot in Kerala’s Tamil‑film box‑office rankings. The final day‑7 collections will determine whether the Rajinikanth‑starrer achieves the projected milestone.

The film, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and produced by Kalanithi Maran under the Sun Pictures banner, was released worldwide on October 15, 2026. It follows the story of retired jailer Tiger Muthuvel Pandian, played by Rajinikanth, and brings back Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Mirnaa and Rithvik in their original roles from the first film.

In addition to the core cast, Jailer 2 features S. J. Suryah, Mithun Chakraborty, Suraj Venjaramoodu and Vidya Balan in key roles, while cameo appearances by Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, Hrithik Roshan, Jackie Shroff and Vijay Sethupathi add star power.

Musically, Anirudh Ravichander composed the score, Vijay Kartik Kannan handled cinematography, and R. Nirmal served as editor. With the seventh‑day collections still rolling in, the film’s trajectory suggests it will soon surpass the ₹60 crore threshold and eclipse Leo in Kerala’s Tamil‑film box‑office history.
