Ram Kapoor claims Harshad Chopda 'loves' Shivangi Joshi; unhealthy relationship

In the latest episode of the reality show Lock Upp Season 2, actor Ram Kapoor sparked controversy by claiming that fellow contestant Harshad Chopda harbours romantic feelings for fellow participant Shivangi Joshi. Kapoor said, “Harshad is playing for Shivangi. He will remove himself if Shivangi is going to win the show. It is clear that he loves her but quietly. The way he cried for Shivangi that day made it clear.” He went on to describe the relationship as “unhealthy” for both sides, adding that Shivangi is “using” Harshad to her advantage and that he is “running her game.”

The comments came after Harshad was seen visibly upset when other contestants mistreated Shivangi, and after the pair’s on‑screen chemistry during the series, which had fans debating whether they were merely friends or something more. While some viewers agreed with Kapoor’s assessment, others pointed out that both Harshad and Shivangi have repeatedly stated that they are just friends. One fan wrote, “Ram saying Harshad is madly in love with Shivangi and would quit the show just to make her win. But weren’t you there when both Shivangi and Harshad clearly said they’re just friends, not lovers?”

Supporters of Kapoor’s view cited comments from other participants. Shilpa Shinde reportedly echoed a similar sentiment, and Shreya Kalra recalled Harshad saying, “Who doesn’t like her?” after being asked if he liked Shivangi. A fan also joked that “Ekta had the easiest job convincing Harshad to do Lock Upp” after mentioning Shivangi’s involvement.

The debate highlights how reality‑TV relationships are scrutinised by audiences. While the show’s producers have not commented on the matter, the conversation continues online, with fans split between those who see a budding romance and those who believe the pair’s bond is purely platonic.
