Raghav Juyal, who first captured the nation’s attention as a breakout star on Dance India Dance, is now stepping into a new arena as the lead of the upcoming comedy film Bhai Tera Star Hai. After a 16‑year journey from the dance stage to the silver screen, the actor says the project is a personal milestone that he has been chasing since his early days.
In an interview with the Hindustan Times, Juyal reflected on the film’s premise: it follows an aspiring actor who dreams of becoming a superstar. He admits that the character’s relentless optimism mirrors his own belief that “even a normal person should keep that delusion that no matter what, you can make it.” The actor added that the film is not only a professional achievement but also a tribute to his parents, who live in Dehradun, and to young dreamers from small towns who can see their own aspirations reflected on screen.
Juyal explained that after taking on darker roles in projects like Kill and the Zee5 series Gyaarah Gyaarah, he wanted to return to a genre that feels most natural to him—clean, entertaining comedy. He cited the popularity of Govinda’s films and the 1990s hit Hera Pheri as inspirations, and said he aims to bring that spirit back with a fresh, youthful twist.
According to the actor, audiences today are overwhelmed with stress and serious narratives. He believes that a light‑hearted film can give viewers a brief escape, allowing them to “forget the tension” of everyday life. He added that while the world is filled with intense news coverage, cinema should offer a moment of pure amusement.
Juyal also highlighted his versatility, noting that his villain role in Kill surprised many who saw him only as a comedian. He emphasized that he does not want to be confined to a single type of role or trend, describing himself as a “beast” who refuses to accept formulaic projects. The actor’s commitment to diversity in his work underlines his broader vision for his career.
