Sargun Mehta Overwhelmed by Ravie Dubey's Lakshman Portrayal; Ramayana Trailer Launch

At a star‑studded trailer launch in Delhi on Saturday, Sargun Mehta, wife of actor Ravie Dubey, shared an emotional moment on social media, saying she could not stop crying as she watched her husband begin his journey as Lakshman in Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming Ramayana. The event, attended by the film’s team, featured the unveiling of the trailer to a select audience, and Mehta posted a series of photos and videos from the occasion on Instagram.

In her heartfelt note, Mehta thanked casting director Mukesh Chhabra for selecting Dubey for the role, writing, “My heart is so full I can’t type until I stop crying. I can’t currently stop crying. Cannot wait for the world to witness the trailer on 24th July 2026. Thank you to the man who put us here, who showed faith in us, Hamaare pyaare @castingchhabra. Indebted to you forever Jai Shree Ram.” She added, “Just with every breath I want to thank God for being so kind. Yeh iskey tapp ka fal hai (This is the fruit of his labours). Ravi.”

Dubey himself was moved during his speech at the launch. He described the opportunity to play Lakshman as a “divine blessing,” expressing gratitude to the makers for trusting him with one of the epic’s most pivotal characters. He could barely contain his tears, and his voice quivered as he thanked the team for giving him this chance.

Ramayana marks Dubey’s first major film role after a decade‑long career on television. The two‑part epic, directed by Tiwari, stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, and Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman. The film’s music is a collaboration between Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman. The first instalment is slated for release during Diwali 2026, with the second part expected in Diwali 2027.

Abhimanyu Mathur, Deputy Editor of Entertainment at Hindustan Times, noted the significance of the event for Dubey’s career and the anticipation surrounding the film’s release.
