Bollywood actor Vikrant Massey has spoken candidly about his marriage to Sheetal Thakur, revealing that the couple tied the knot after realizing they shared the same life goals. The pair, who have been together for more than a decade, first met in 2015 through a mutual friend and later fell in love while shooting the web series Broken But Beautiful in 2018. They officially registered their marriage on February 14, 2022, and celebrated with a traditional ceremony in Himachal Pradesh on February 18 of the same year.
Massey said that neither he nor Thakur maintains contact with their former partners, calling the practice of staying friends with an ex a “red flag.” He explained to News18 that their decision not to keep ex‑friends was not out of spite but simply a reflection of their personalities: “Being friends with an ex is a red flag for me. Neither Sheetal nor I are friends with our respective exes. It’s not like we don’t want to be friendly, but by virtue of who we are, we aren’t.”
The actor also defended the couple’s openness about their relationship. He noted that they never hid their romance from the public or from friends and family, stating, “We never hid it from the world. I feel that people who don’t want to label their relationships or hide them are shady. If you’ve spent a considerable time together, maybe four to five years, and you aren’t wanting to share it with the world that includes your friends and family, that’s kind of shady.”
In a recent interview with Rhea Chakraborty, Massey recalled a moment early in their relationship that has stayed with him. Thakur once told him, “The moment I saw you, I saw the father of my kids.” Though it might have sounded eerie at the time, the couple now have a son, Vardaan, born in February 2024, making the prediction come true.
Professionally, Massey is preparing for the Netflix release of Musafir Cafe on July 24, after a cameo in Shahid Kapoor’s O'Romeo. He also has upcoming projects such as Yaar Jigri and Talaakhon Mein Ek in the pipeline.
