Pari Elavazhagan’s debut romantic comedy‑drama, Anbe Diana, is slated to hit Indian cinemas on Friday, July 17, 2026. The film, which sees Elavazhagan wearing three hats—writer, director and lead actor—promises a clean, feel‑good family entertainer that follows a cross‑cultural love story between a conservative Hindu boy and an Anglo‑Indian girl.
Before the public release, film trade analyst Sreedhar Pillai took to X to share his first impressions. He gave the movie a 3.5‑out‑of‑5 rating, describing it as a “romantic family entertainer” that keeps viewers engaged until the end. Pillai praised the film’s setting in Perambur, noting that the neighbourhood’s well‑known landmarks form the backbone of the narrative and add authenticity to the story.
In his review, Pillai highlighted Elavazhagan’s dual role, calling his performance and direction “decent.” He singled out Ramya Ranganathan as “pure magic” on screen and praised the supporting cast—Roja, Chetan, and Parithabangal Gopi—for their solid contributions. While he felt the film could have been crisper, he concluded that it remains an enjoyable family entertainer with a message about love transcending cultural differences.
The film is a joint production of Million Dollar Studios, Neo Castle Creations and Era Entertainments. The technical crew includes music composer Bharath Sankar, cinematographer Shelley Calist, editor Partha MA and art director Mahendran. Production was overseen by Sathya Karikalan, Era Saravanan and Yuvaraj Ganesan.
With advance bookings already underway, audiences will soon be able to judge for themselves whether Anbe Diana lives up to the early praise and delivers a wholesome cinematic experience.
