Cinema VinesVishnu Vishal and Aishwarya Lekshmi’s Tamil sports‑romantic comedy Gatta Kusthi 2 has been performing steadily since its release on 3 July, crossing the ₹42 crore mark worldwide after ten days on screens. The sequel, written and directed by Chella Ayyavu, follows the original 2022 film and keeps audiences entertained with a mix of family drama, sports, romance and comedy.
According to Sacnilk’s box‑office tracking, the film earned an estimated ₹3.40 crore net in India on Day 10, a 6.2% rise over the previous day’s ₹3.20 crore. By the end of the first ten days, the domestic net collection reached ₹30.35 crore, while the gross stood at ₹34.85 crore. Overseas earnings totaled ₹7.95 crore gross, adding the ₹0.70 crore collected on the second Sunday, which pushed the worldwide gross to ₹42.80 crore.
The opening weekend saw a sharp jump after a modest first Friday of ₹2.70 crore. Saturday’s takings hit ₹4.95 crore and Sunday’s ₹6.20 crore, giving the film a strong finish for its first weekend. Weekday collections fell to between ₹1.75 crore and ₹2.35 crore, bringing the first‑week net to ₹22.10 crore.
In the second week, the film opened on Friday with ₹1.65 crore, climbed to ₹3.20 crore on Saturday, and peaked at ₹3.40 crore on Sunday – the best day of the second weekend. Occupancy improved from 23% on Friday to 41% on Saturday and 44% on Sunday, reflecting the upward trend.
The cast features Vishnu Vishal, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Karunas, Munishkanth, Kaali Venkat, Karunakaran, Zara and Mokksha. Production credits include Dr. Ishari K.
