Priyanka Chahar Choudhary; Survived 36-Hour Shifts While Juggling Naagin 7 and Battleground

Television actress Priyanka Chahar Choudhary has captured audiences with her commanding performance as the lead in Ekta Kapoor’s latest supernatural saga, Na Gaan 7. The 36‑hour season has now concluded, and fans were eager to see filmmaker‑choreographer Farah Khan visit Priyanka’s home for one of her popular vlogs. The long‑awaited episode finally aired, offering an inside look at the actress’s journey from hesitancy to triumph.

In the vlog, Priyanka explains how she initially declined the Na Gaan offer, preferring a role that demanded more natural acting. She recalls being in the Bigg Boss house when Ekta Kapoor approached her about the series, and how Kapoor later told filmmaker Dibakar Banerjee not to eliminate her because she was being kept for something special. “When she hugged me, she whispered, ‘Listen, I’m going to call you soon,’ and I knew she was talking about Na Gaan,” she says.

Despite her doubts, Priyanka accepted the role after a conversation on a flight to the US, where the team’s anxiety over her decision became palpable. She added that the shift to Na Gaan was a turning point, but it came at a steep cost: 26 shooting days a month, each lasting 12 hours, while simultaneously serving as a mentor on the reality show Battleground.

Her Battleground schedule ran from 10 pm to 7 am, and she would arrive home around 6 or 7 am, shower quickly, and be on the Na Gaan set by 9 am. She would then shoot until 9 pm, effectively working 36 consecutive hours. “I survived on 40‑minute naps because I simply can’t sleep in the afternoon,” she admits, highlighting the grueling pace she maintained for both shows.

Priyanka’s rise to national prominence began with her role as Tejo Sandhu in the drama Udaariyaan (2021‑2023), where her performance earned critical acclaim and a large fan base. Her on‑screen chemistry with co‑star Ankit Gupta became a talking point, and her stint on Bigg Boss 16 saw her finish as the second runner‑up, earning praise from Salman Khan, who called her the “winner of the show.” Since then, she has featured in music videos, brand collaborations, and now, her first lead role in a major series.
