Yash’s Toxic rakes in ₹18 crore in 48 hours; outpaces Jawan and Dhurandhar

Advance bookings for Yash’s pan‑India action drama Toxic have been moving at a record‑setting speed, with the film collecting more than ₹18 crore in just 48 hours before its theatrical release on August 26. The film’s pre‑sale window opened on Friday morning, August 21, and by Sunday morning the numbers were staggering: over 4.7 lakh tickets sold across India in all languages, with the original Kannada version alone pulling in ₹10 crore.

The Hindi dub has outperformed expectations, grossing ₹8 crore in advance bookings on day one, a figure that already eclipses the projected earnings for the Hindi version of the film. Yash’s popularity in North India, bolstered by the success of the KGF franchise, is clearly translating into strong demand for the dubbed release.

In the first 24 hours of pre‑sales, Toxic sold nearly 2.5 lakh tickets, a pace that ranks among the fastest in Indian cinema history. The film has already surpassed the advance‑booking totals of several high‑profile releases: it beat Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan (1.5 lakh tickets), Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar 2 (1.3 lakh tickets), and Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal (55k tickets). Even the Hindi version alone has sold 60k tickets in 24 hours, outpacing Animal.

Directed by Geetu Mohandas and featuring a star‑studded cast that includes Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth, and Tara Sutaria, Toxic has generated buzz not only for its high‑budget action sequences but also for its provocative scenes and dialogue. The film received an A‑rating from the Central Board of Film Certification without any cuts.

With such a robust pre‑release performance, Toxic is poised to challenge several all‑time opening records in Indian cinema. The film’s momentum suggests a blockbuster opening that could redefine the commercial potential of pan‑India releases.
