Kannada superstar Yash, who is set to return to the silver screen with Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown‑Ups, made headlines during a pre‑release gathering in Hyderabad. The event, held to promote the gangster‑driven thriller, saw the actor mingle with fans, sign autographs and even pause the show to address safety concerns when stage equipment collapsed.
One of the most heart‑warming moments captured on camera occurred when a fan rushed toward Yash to snap a selfie. Yash’s bodyguard tried to pull the fan away, but the actor stepped in, told the guard to back off and patiently took the photo. The clip, which has gone viral, shows Huma Qureshi laughing and cheering as Yash smiles at the fan. Commenters on social media praised the star’s generosity, calling him a “gem of a person,” a “golden heart” and a “good human being.” Several fans noted that real heroes never hate their supporters and keep them in their hearts.
In another segment of the event, a fan approached Yash with a portrait he had drawn for the actor. Yash welcomed the fan, signed the artwork and posed for a photo together before security escorted the fan away. The same evening, after a stage collapse injured several attendees, Yash urged people who were climbing onto speaker stands to step down and prioritise safety.
“Toxic” is directed by Geetu Mohandas and features Yash in a double role alongside Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria, Rukmini Vasanth and Huma Qureshi. The film’s trailer, released earlier this month, offers a glimpse into its gritty world while exploring the relationship between a gangster named Raya and his son. The movie is slated for theatrical release on 26 August.
Alongside “Toxic,” Yash is also set to star in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana, playing Ravana opposite Ranbir Kapoor as Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Sunny Deol as Hanuman. That film is expected to hit theatres during Diwali 2026.
