In a recent episode of The Male Feminist podcast, actress Tara Sutaria spoke candidly about her experience working on the film and her impression of co‑star Yash. She described him as “one of the most sensitive and genuinely caring people” in the industry, noting that it is rare to find someone who thinks of others more than themselves. “He is unlike anyone I have met. He is very considerate,” Tara said, adding that such sensitivity is uncommon in Bollywood.
During the interview, Tara also addressed the frequent comparisons that female actors face. She explained that every actress is unique and that people often compare one another on social media, a practice she says is rarely applied to male actors. “I have never seen this hero or that hero,” she remarked, highlighting the double standard in the industry.
Tara’s role in Toxic is that of Rebecca, a character that made her first look public on January 3. Director Geetu Mohandas had previously expressed a protective instinct toward the young actress, saying she felt a natural affection to shield her. Mohandas noted that Tara absorbed more than she spoke, listening intently and developing a profound inner awareness that ultimately led to a stunning performance. “She completely astonished me, in the most wonderful way,” Mohandas said, expressing confidence that Tara would continue to impress audiences.
The film features a strong female ensemble, including Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, and Rukmini Vasanth, alongside Yash. Despite its mixed reviews, the cast’s performances, particularly Tara’s, have drawn praise from industry insiders and fans alike.
