Cinema VinesMrunal Thakur has addressed the swirling rumours that she might be part of Allu Arjun and Atlee’s upcoming sci‑fi venture, Raaka, but she stopped short of confirming her involvement. In a recent chat with HT City, the actress laughed at the speculation, saying, “I like how you assume that I am doing Raaka.” She made it clear that any official announcements would come directly from her own social‑media channels, adding, “The announcement of upcoming films, I will make it on social networking sites soon, so that we put a full stop to all these rumours.”
When pressed for a direct answer, Mrunal reiterated that she has not yet signed any film in the past nine months. She said she is waiting for a role that feels meaningful before she makes a public declaration, promising that the news would appear on her own accounts. The actress also used the interview as an opportunity to discuss her philosophy towards acting, stating, “I just want to enjoy the process. Because an experiment is like aim, apparatus, observation, conclusion, that’s it. I don’t want to come to a conclusion that it did not work. For me, everything is you live and you learn.”
Raaka, directed by Tamil filmmaker Atlee and starring Allu Arjun, is slated for a 2027 release and is notable for being a pan‑India project that already achieved a Guinness World Record for real‑time motion capture involving 37 performers simultaneously. Deepika Padukone is also attached to the film’s lead cast, adding further star power to the ambitious project.
In a previous interview with Mid‑Day, Mrunal echoed the same stance, noting that she had not signed any new projects in almost nine months and would announce her next film only through her social‑media handle. The actress also hinted at her excitement for her current release, Pooja Meri Jaan, and the diverse energy brought by co‑stars Huma Qureshi, Vikram Singh Chauhan and Vijay Raaz.
As the buzz around Raaka continues, fans and industry watchers will have to wait for Mrunal Thakur’s official social‑media announcement to see whether she joins the high‑profile cast or focuses on other upcoming projects.
