Aasha Sees Sunday Surge; Urvashi and Joju George Drive Box‑Office Growth

Malayalam mystery family drama Aasha is showing a noticeable uptick in its Kerala theatrical run on Sunday, September 13, according to film‑industry tracker AB George. The film, which opened in cinemas on September 11, has accumulated a tracked gross of ₹53 lakh from 412 shows by 1:30 PM on Day 3, though the Sunday shows are still ongoing and the final Day 3 figure will depend on evening and night performances.

For comparison, Aasha collected ₹65 lakh in Kerala on its second day, so the early Sunday figure is an early indicator rather than a direct comparison with the completed Day 2 total. AB George’s X post at 2 PM on September 13 credited the growth to positive word‑of‑mouth and the film’s thriller‑oriented narrative, noting that audience response has helped lift occupancy on the weekend.

The film is directed by Safar Sanal and explores the ripple effects of seemingly small choices, weaving a drama around cause and effect. Joju George, who also contributes to the screenplay alongside Ramesh Girija and Sanal, stars with Urvashi, Aishwarya Lekshmi and Vijayaraghavan in the lead roles. Supporting cast members include Ramesh Girija, Ajayan Adat, Prashanth Alexander, Joy Mathew, Shari and Amrutha Krishnakumar.

Produced by Vinayaka Ajith, Aasha features cinematography by Madhu Neelakandan, editing by Shan Mohammed, sound design and sync sound by Ajayan Adat, and production design by Vivek Kalthil. As Sunday’s shows continue, the final Kerala collection for Day 3 will reveal whether the early surge translates into a stronger overall third‑day total.
