Cinema VinesSandali Sinha burst onto the Hindi film scene with a 2001 debut in the romantic drama Tum Bin, quickly becoming a favorite among young audiences and earning the nickname of a national crush. The film’s soundtrack, especially the hit “Tum Bin Jiya Jaye Kaise,” cemented her popularity, but the momentum did not translate into a long‑term acting career. After the movie, she appeared in smaller roles in films such as Om (2001), Pinjar (2003) and Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Saathiyo (2004), and even tried her hand in Telugu cinema with Orey Pandu (2005). Box‑office returns were modest, and Sinha chose to step away from the industry to focus on family.
Born in Bihar, Sinha moved to Delhi with her mother and sister following her father’s death. While in the capital, she developed an interest in acting, modelling, and television, landing a role in the 1997 series Tanha and a memorable appearance in the 1990s music video “Kon Hai Wo Ladki” from Sonu Nigam’s album Deewana. Her breakthrough came when she was cast in Tum Bin, after the music video had attracted Bollywood’s attention.
In November 2005, just three years after her film debut, Sinha married Kiran Salaskar. The couple settled in Mumbai, and she shifted her energies toward home life, becoming a mother of two. In interviews, Sinha has described the decision to marry and step back from cinema as a natural progression rather than a planned exit, noting that “the film naturally happened, and life unfolded naturally after that.”
Together with Salaskar, Sinha helped launch Country of Origin (COO), an artisanal bakery and patisserie that has grown to three upscale outlets across Mumbai. While Salaskar co‑founds other hospitality ventures, Sinha’s role as founder of COO marks a successful transition from the silver screen to the culinary world, turning her early Bollywood spark into a lasting pastry empire.
