Ranveer Singh's Pralay Gets International Cinematographer Juan Carlos Gil

In a move that has Bollywood fans buzzing, the upcoming Ranveer Singh starrer Pralay has secured the services of acclaimed international director of photography Juan Carlos Gil. Gil, best known for his work on Netflix’s hit series Narcos and the political drama White, will bring a Hollywood‑style visual flair to the mega‑budget zombie thriller.

According to a source speaking to Bollywood Hungama, the production team behind Pralay is “mounting the film on a lavish scale and wants it to have a Hollywood‑style visual treatment.” The source added that Gil “fits the bill perfectly” and that he is equally excited to join the project, while the crew is thrilled to have him on board for what they describe as an ambitious zombie film.

Directed by Jai Mehta and produced by Birla Studios and Hansal Mehta, Pralay is positioned as Ranveer Singh’s immediate follow‑up to the blockbuster Dhurandhar. The film promises a high‑energy mix of action and horror, and the choice of Gil is intended to give it a polished, international look.

Gil’s credentials are impressive. He shot White, a large‑scale political drama starring Vikrant Massey as Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. White is based on the real‑life resolution of Colombia’s longest internal conflict through non‑violent means, a story that blends ancient Indian philosophy with global politics. The film, backed by Siddharth Anand of War and Pathaan fame, and producers Mahaveer Jain and PeaceCraft Pictures, was filmed largely in South America with an international cast and crew.

With two very different genres—Pralay a zombie actioner and White a political drama—both projects are set to showcase a distinct, global visual language in Indian cinema, thanks in large part to Gil’s involvement. Fans of Ranveer Singh and Vikrant Massey alike can expect a cinematic experience that marries Bollywood spectacle with a polished, Hollywood‑grade aesthetic.
