Lakadbaggha 2 Postpones Global Debut; Targets Early 2027 Release

Indian action star Anshuman Jha’s sequel, Lakadbaggha 2: The Monkey Business, has been pushed from its original worldwide release date of 6 November 2026 to early 2027. The decision, announced by the filmmakers, was made to avoid clashing with the release of Ranbir Kapoor’s Ramayana and to allow for a broader theatrical rollout overseas.

Despite the delay, the film will still debut internationally during the Diwali season. Its world premiere is scheduled for 7 November at the Razor Reel Flanders Film Festival in Belgium, where it has been selected for the festival’s programme. The premiere marks the first public screening of the sequel before its wider release.

In addition to the festival debut, the producers plan to showcase the film at the American Film Market in November, seeking distribution deals for a North American release in 2027. The team hopes the expanded release strategy will give audiences a larger platform to enjoy the new chapter of the franchise.

While Lakadbaggha 2 waits for its global launch, the original film will return to Indian cinemas in select theatres starting this November. The re‑release offers fans a chance to revisit the story of Arjun Bakshi, the animal‑loving vigilante who anchors the series, before his next adventure unfolds.

“We are thrilled to be premiering Lakadbaggha 2: The Monkey Business during Diwali week in Belgium at Razor Reel Flanders,” the makers said in a statement. “We are looking at a grander worldwide theatrical release in early 2027 for the sequel, giving the film the opportunity to reach audiences on a larger scale.”
