Nora Fatehi has been summoned as a witness in the high‑profile ₹200 crore extortion case that centers on alleged conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar, but the actress is not being accused of any wrongdoing. The Delhi Rouse Avenue Court listed the matter on the day of the hearing, and Fatehi’s lawyers appeared to inform the judge that the actress had received the summons on very short notice and could not attend due to prior professional commitments. An application for exemption from personal appearance was filed, and the court granted her relief, ordering that she appear on November 6, 2026, to record her deposition.
Special Judge Gagandeep Singh directed that Fatehi be present on that date to provide her testimony, clarifying that she is “neither an accused nor alleged to have committed any offence in these proceedings.” The actress was named LW‑3 in the third supplementary chargesheet, and her statement was taken under Section 164 of the CrPC during the investigation.
The case, which is being investigated by the Delhi Police’s Economic Offences Wing under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act, alleges that Chandrashekhar extorted approximately ₹200 crore from Aditi Singh, wife of former Ranbaxy promoter Shivinder Mohan Singh, while he was lodged in Rohini Jail. He is said to have impersonated government officials to carry out the extortion.
Fatehi maintains that she had no personal association with Chandrashekhar. According to her account, the only interaction she had with him was through his wife, Leena Maria Paulose, during a professional charity event in Chennai in December 2020. With the fresh summons issued, she is expected to appear before the Rouse Avenue Court on November 6 to assist the proceedings as a witness.
