Marvel Studios has finally released the long‑awaited trailer for its upcoming blockbuster, Avengers: Doomsday. The teaser, unveiled at CinemaCon in Las Vegas in April, shows the entire MCU multiverse rallying together to confront a single, formidable foe: Doctor Doom, portrayed by Robert Downey Jr., marking his return to the Marvel universe.
The clip opens with Thor, played by Chris Hemsworth, clashing with Downey’s Doom. The battle ends with Doom clearly dominating, before he turns to the assembled heroes and urges them to unite if they are to survive. The trailer also spotlights a reunion with Chris Evans as Captain America, who re‑enters the MCU after the events of Avengers: Endgame.
In addition to the core Avengers, the trailer showcases a wide array of characters from across the Marvel spectrum. The X‑Men lineup—including Professor X, Magneto, Cyclops, Mystique, and Gambit—joins forces with the Fantastic Four, while Loki, Shang‑Chi, and the Wakandan warriors also appear. A long list of returning actors is highlighted, featuring names such as Pedro Pascal, Paul Rudd, Anthony Mackie, Florence Pugh, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss‑Bachrach, Wyatt Russell, Channing Tatum, Simu Liu, Ian McKellen, Tom Hiddleston, James Marsden, Patrick Stewart, Joseph Quinn, Sebastian Stan, David Harbour, Letitia Wright, Lewis Pullman, Kelsey Grammer, Kathryn Newton, Danny Ramirez, Winston Duke, Alan Cumming, Hannah John‑Kamen, and Rebecca Romijn.
Fans reacted with enthusiasm on social media. One comment joked that Thor would be “surprised” after seeing Captain America, while another praised Thor’s leadership role. A fan also noted that Doom had “killed Thanos” in the trailer, a claim that sparked discussion. Robert Downey Jr. expressed excitement at the stage, saying, “Honestly, I could not have imagined reuniting with this amazing team, after such a glorious run of success and creative joy, let alone as a new character.”
“Avengers: Doomsday” will hit theaters worldwide on December 18, with an exclusive release in India on the same date in premium formats. The film will be available in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu, promising a wide-reaching cinematic experience for fans across the globe.
