Aamir Khan Exits Ashneer Grover Biopic; Rahul Mody and Shraddha Kapoor Search for New Actor; Creative Differences

Aamir Khan has pulled out of the Ashneer Grover biopic after a clash of creative visions with debutant director Rahul Mody. The actor, who had been keen to explore the world of start‑ups, reportedly spent time shaping the script before the partnership dissolved, according to a source speaking to Bollywood Hungama.

Despite Khan’s exit, Mody and co‑star Shraddha Kapoor remain committed to the project. Kapoor, who will also produce the film and portray Grover’s wife, is now searching for a younger actor to play the controversial entrepreneur. The team is reportedly in talks with two or three top names and expects to lock the cast soon.

The biopic was slated to begin production in March 2027, once Khan completes his schedule with Ashutosh Gowarikar on a period drama. The change in the lead role could push the start date further, but the production team says the story and production values will remain unchanged.

Shifting the lead role comes amid growing interest in Grover’s story, and Kapoor’s involvement as both producer and actress signals her strong belief in the narrative. The film’s release window is still under wraps, but industry insiders anticipate a 2028 launch.

For now, fans of the original star will have to wait for the new casting announcement, while Mody and Kapoor continue to navigate the challenges of bringing a high‑profile biopic to the big screen.
