Zeeshan Ayyub Reacts to Voice Replacement in Ajay Devgn's Chauhan Teaser; Denies Involvement in the Film

Actor Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub has publicly denied any involvement in Ajay Devgn’s upcoming film Chauhan, after his voice was used in the teaser without his permission. The controversy began when the teaser was released, featuring a line that sounded unmistakably like Ayyub’s voice. The actor later clarified that he had only recorded a single line for a different project and had no connection to the new film.

In a statement posted on X late Tuesday night, Ayyub explained that he had been asked a few months earlier to dub a line “in good faith” because he knew the makers personally. He added that he never received any additional compensation or contractual details. When he discovered that the line had been incorporated into the teaser, he immediately requested the filmmakers to remove his voice. According to him, the producers complied and the voice was taken out of the teaser fifteen days after the initial release.

The teaser’s opening line, “Pathaanon se kehna, Chauhaan aa raha hai,” was the focal point of the debate, but the real issue was the unauthorized use of Ayyub’s voice. In his post, the actor made it clear that he was not part of the film in any capacity and that he would never be involved in a project that used his voice without consent.

“I wish to put on record that I am not part of the film in any capacity,” Ayyub wrote. “After my strong objection, the makers removed my voice from the teaser fifteen days ago.” He concluded by urging the public to focus on the current situation in the country, praising the courage of young students on the streets and expressing patriotic sentiments with “JAI HIND, JAI SAMVIDHAN.”

Chauhan is produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Aanand L. Rai and Himanshu Sharma. The controversy highlights the importance of clear contractual agreements and consent in the film industry, especially when a voice or likeness is used in promotional material.
