Cinema VinesIndian actor R. Madhavan has been announced as the new host of the much‑loved talk show Jeena Isi Ka Naam Hai, which is set to return on the streaming platform Zee 5. The revival, titled Jeena Isi Ka Naam Hai 2.0, will carry forward the legacy of the original series that was famously anchored by the late Farooq Shaikh.
Madhavan, who expressed enthusiasm about taking on the role, said that today’s audience has “unprecedented access to the lives of people we admire” yet still misses the deeper, personal side of those figures. “We know what they do, where they go, and what they share, but we rarely get to know who they truly are,” he noted, underscoring the relevance of the show’s intimate format.
The new season aims to feature conversations with a range of personalities who have made significant contributions in their fields. According to the producers, the focus will be on exploring the guests’ personal journeys, relationships, and defining moments that lie beyond their public achievements. The intent is to uncover the untold stories that have shaped their paths and to highlight the human side of their success.
Reflecting on the original series, Madhavan praised Farooq Shaikh’s work, describing the show as a “rare space for honest, deeply human conversations” that celebrated individuals beyond their public personas. He added that carrying forward such a legacy is both an honour and a responsibility, and that the new season will strive to preserve the soul of the original while making it resonate with contemporary viewers.
“As Jeena Isi Ka Naam Hai returns on Zee 5, our endeavour is to preserve the soul of the original while making it resonate with today’s audiences,” Madhavan said. He highlighted that the upcoming episodes will bring together extraordinary personalities and legends who have taken India to the global stage, revealing the defining moments, relationships, and untold stories that have shaped their journeys. “Beyond every achievement and every headline is a human story waiting to be told, and those are the stories that truly stay with us,” he concluded.
While the exact premiere date has not yet been announced, Jeena Isi Ka Naam Hai 2.0 is slated to debut soon on Zee 5, promising viewers a fresh yet familiar look at the lives of India’s most influential figures.
