In the latest edition of the M3M Hurun India Rich List 2025, the spotlight turns to the country’s most influential figures, not just in wealth but also in digital presence. While the list spans sectors from entertainment to technology, it is the Bollywood giants who dominate the social‑media leaderboard, taking the top three spots.
Amitabh Bachchan has edged out Shah Rukh Khan by a mere 100,000 followers, boasting a combined count of 4.87 crore across X (formerly Twitter), Instagram and LinkedIn. Shah Rukh Khan trails closely with 4.86 crore, and Hrithik Roshan follows with 4.81 crore. The three icons together command 14.54 crore followers, underscoring their enduring reach beyond the silver screen.
The margin between the trio is razor‑thin: Bachchan leads Khan by just one lakh followers, and Roshan is six lakh behind Bachchan. This narrow gap highlights the fierce yet friendly competition among India’s most beloved stars in the digital arena.
Beyond the top three, the list continues to showcase Bollywood’s influence. Karan Johar tops the next slot with 1.82 crore followers, outpacing several prominent business and tech leaders. Satya Nadella, the Microsoft CEO, follows with 1.16 crore, while Anand Mahindra has 1.15 crore. Sundar Pichai, Juhi Chawla, Nandan Nilekani and Ronnie Screwvala round out the rankings with 56 lakh, 53 lakh, 24 lakh and 19 lakh followers respectively.
With 1,687 individuals listed as having amassed at least ₹1,000 crore, the 2025 Hurun India Rich List showcases the scale of wealth creation across 91 cities. Yet, when measured by direct engagement on social platforms, Bollywood’s enduring icons remain a formidable force, proving that their influence stretches far beyond box‑office earnings.
