Rajesh Sharma Recovers from Insect Bite, Set to Resume Work

Actor Rajesh Sharma was rushed to a hospital in Kolkata early this month after an insect bite during a shoot at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad. The bite, which occurred on July 8 while he was speaking with local technicians near a densely vegetated area, initially seemed harmless, so Sharma did not seek immediate medical attention. He later flew to Kolkata, where he developed severe pain in his right leg, a high fever and restlessness, prompting admission to Manipal Hospital in the city.

According to statements from actress Sudipta Chatterjee and filmmaker‑producer Agnidev Chatterjee, Sharma’s condition had improved by the time of their comments, but he remained in the hospital. Fans and industry peers expressed concern, with Bollywood star Akshay Kumar sharing a post on X (formerly Twitter) that read: “Very concerned to hear about my dear friend Rajesh’s health condition after an insect bite while shooting. Hope Mahadev blesses him with fast and complete recovery. Jaldi theek ho ja yaar, abhi saath baith ke bhot hansna hai.”

BN Tiwari, President of the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), confirmed that Sharma had been discharged and was now recuperating at his residence in Mumbai. Tiwari added that the actor is scheduled to travel abroad in the coming days to resume shooting for an upcoming project.

Sharma’s recovery is being closely watched by fans and colleagues alike. The actor’s team has stated that he is on the mend and will return to work shortly, bringing relief to those who had worried about his health following the incident.
