Karan Tacker is set to reprise his role as the paranormal investigator Gaurav Tiwari in the second season of the Amazon series Bhay: The Gaurav Tiwari Mystery. The first season, directed by Robbie Grewal, followed the life and work of the eponymous detective and featured Kalki Koechlin, delving into Tiwari’s career and the circumstances of his mysterious death. The show has been renewed for a new season, with production slated to begin in March.
Speaking about the renewal, Tacker said, “The success of Bhay: The Gaurav Tiwari Mystery Season 1 has been extremely encouraging for all of us associated with the show. In today's entertainment landscape, audience attention is hard‑earned, and when a show manages to create an impact and sustain that interest, it means a great deal.” He added that the ratings had been phenomenal and that the new season would allow him to push his acting beyond familiar territory.
To return as Tiwari, the actor will need to alter his appearance. He is currently in Scotland for another project, sporting long hair and a beard, but for Bhay he will adopt a shorter hairstyle and a clean‑shaven look that mirrors the real‑life detective’s appearance. Tacker is expected to return to India in December to begin preparations and the physical transformation required for the role.
Produced by Almighty Motion Pictures, the series will stream on Amazon Prime Video. Tacker expressed enthusiasm for the new chapter, stating, “With Season 2, we're looking forward to building on the world we've created and bringing audiences another compelling chapter.” The shoot is scheduled to start in March, following the successful first season’s reception.
