Indian pop singer Kanika Kapoor has confirmed that she and her husband, Gautam Hathiramani, have decided to part ways. The announcement came via an Instagram story posted on Tuesday night, in which Kapoor addressed friends and family with a heartfelt note. She wrote that after careful consideration the couple had mutually chosen to end their marriage, and she asked for privacy and respect as they move forward.
Kapoor’s marriage to Hathiramani, which began in May 2022, ended after a little more than four years. It follows her first marriage to Raj Chandok in 1999, from which she has three children: daughters Aayana and Samara, and son Yuvraaj. The singer had divorced Chandok in 2012, and the subsequent years saw her rise to stardom with chart‑topping tracks such as “Baby Doll,” “Lovely,” and “Chittiyaan Kalaiyaan.”
In her Instagram message, Kapoor expressed gratitude for the time she and Hathiramani spent together and wished him well for the future. She concluded with a plea for kindness: “I sincerely ask for kindness and respect for our privacy as we move forward.” The post was a quiet, personal statement amid the public eye that has often surrounded her career.
Kapoor’s musical journey began after her first divorce, with her breakthrough hit “Baby Doll” from the film Ragini MMS 2. The song earned her a Filmfare Award for Best Female Playback Singer and opened the door to further successes, including “Chhil Gaye Naina” from NH10, “Desi Look” from Ek Paheli Leela, and “Tukur Tukur” from Dilwale. She has also lent her voice to “Da Da Dasse” from Udta Punjab, “Luv Letter” from The Legend of Michael Mishra, and the Hindi version of “Oo Antava Oo Oo Antava” from Pushpa.
