Idhayam Murali Box Office; Crosses ₹5 Crore India Net on Day 2

On its second day of release, the Atharvaa‑starrer Tamil coming‑of‑age romance Idhayam Murali saw a notable uptick in box‑office takings, climbing to an estimated ₹3.15 crore net across India. The film, which debuted on July 10, 2026, has now amassed a total of ₹5.05 crore net after two days of theatrical showings.

Opening day figures, sourced from the tracking portal Sacnilk, placed the movie at ₹1.90 crore net on a run of 1,283 screens, with an overall occupancy of just 30%. By Saturday, the film expanded to 1,375 shows, and the occupancy rose to 43%, indicating a stronger weekend turnout and a positive response from audiences.

In terms of gross earnings, Idhayam Murali has collected approximately ₹5.81 crore so far. The third day, Sunday, is still in progress, and final numbers will determine the film’s opening‑weekend total before it moves into its first full weekday run.

The movie was written, directed, and produced by debutant filmmaker Aakash Baskaran under the Dawn Pictures banner. It stars Atharvaa as the lead, with Kayadu Lohar and Preity Mukhundhan playing pivotal roles. Supporting performances include Natty Subramaniam, Ramki, Thaman S, Niharika NM, Rakshan, Dravid Selvam, Sudhakar, and Pragya Nagra, while Fahadh Faasil makes a cameo appearance.

Notably, Thaman S returns to acting after more than two decades, in addition to contributing as the film’s music composer. Cinematography was handled by Manoj Paramahamsa and CH Sai, and the edit was completed by Pradeep E. Ragav. With Sunday’s business still unfolding, industry observers anticipate a clearer picture of the film’s weekend performance once all screenings conclude, and updated box‑office figures will likely be released thereafter.
