Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan used his personal blog to share a recent, unsettling update that has left fans concerned about his health. In a post dated Monday, the veteran actor revealed that he had been admitted to a hospital, undergone surgery, and spent time in the intensive care unit before being discharged. He described the post‑discharge period as “the most difficult phase … physically, psychologically and practically,” warning that even a revered champion can face defeat in this stage of life.
Bachchan’s message concluded with a philosophical note, stating that some people “strive and be brave ever remain Champions” while others “get reconciled and live, exist in the past glory.” He urged readers to “be well, be happy,” and left the choice of how to respond to each individual’s own hands.
Fans reacted quickly, expressing worry and offering prayers. One comment read, “Dear Amitji, Hope you are not saying this about your health! Hope you were not in hospital or ICU! Praying for whoever you posted about and wishing them a speedy recovery.” Another asked, “About whom are you talking, Amitabh ji? I’m worried. Are you talking about yourself? Please take care.” A third comment wished the actor a swift recovery and praised his resilience.
Earlier that week, Bachchan maintained his tradition of greeting supporters outside his home on a Sunday, sharing photos of the meet‑and‑greet on his blog. He also confirmed that he will return to the silver screen in Nag Ashwin’s sequel to Kalki 2898 AD, reprising his role as Ashwatthama alongside Prabhas and Kamal Haasan. The original film, starring Deepika Padukone, was a blockbuster that grossed over ₹1,000 crore worldwide.
Reports suggest that Padukone will not return for the sequel, with speculation that disagreements over profit‑sharing and reduced working hours may have influenced the decision. While Sai Pallavi has been mentioned as a possible replacement, no official announcement has been made.
